WDO, represented by its Executive Director, H.E. Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby met with H.E. Ms. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Director General of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), on the sidelines of the Second Ministerial Conference on Social Development in the OIC Member States, that took place in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt on the 5^th and 6^th of June.

WDO’s Executive Director, H.E. Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, met OIC’s Secretary General, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, on the sidelines of the Second Ministerial Conference on Social Development in the OIC Member States, that took place in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, on the 5^th and 6^th of June.

Earlier in June, MBC Masr’s Esteemed TV Presenter Amr Adib hosted WDO’s Executive Director, H.E. Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, in the Arab World’s most-watched TV Show El 7ekaya, a few days before the Second Ordinary Session of the Ministerial Council of the Women Development Organization (WDO).

Cairo, June 8^th, 2023 – WDO, led by its Executive Director, H.E Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, concluded today the Second Ordinary Session of the Ministerial Council of the Women Development Organization that took place on the 7^th and 8^th of June, 2023, in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Cairo, June 6^th, 2023 – WDO, led by its Executive Director, H.E Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, will hold the Second Ordinary Session of the Ministerial Council of the Women Development Organization on the 7^th and 8^th of June, 2023, at the Nile Ritz Carlton, Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt

Sunday, May 7th, 2023 – WDO signed on Sunday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Committee of Family and Women of the Republic of Uzbekistan, following a visit from representatives of the Committee to the Organization’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt. 

WDO’s Executive Director Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby met with Ms. Pramila Patten the United Nations Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, during her time in New York attending the CSW67.

A formal lunch was organized in New York City, by the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Mission Ambassador, His Excellency Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, in honor of WDO’s first Executive Director Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby. The lunch took place on the sidelines of CSW67 and was attended by Ambassadors from: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Libya, Argentina, Egypt, Tajikistan & UN.

WDO’s Executive Director, Her Excellency Dr. Afnan Alshauiby, met with OIC Permanent Observer to the UN, Ambassador Hameed A. Opeloyeru; on the sidelines of CSW67 to discuss potential collaborations and initiatives between WDO, OIC, and UN. The meeting also highlighted the important role WDO plays within the OIC system globally.
