To ensure the establishment of the WDO’s operations with adequate and sustainable funding, and advance progress in the previously-mentioned thematic focus areas, the WDO, together with its partners, including UN-Women, UNDP, UNODC, has defined possibilities of establishing a program of support
, to be implemented through a Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) arrangement, aligned with WDO Member States’ priorities. The WDO together with its UN Partners held an interactive dialogue aiming to inform Member States and development partners on the nascent WDO and engage in an open exchange on thematic orientation and the organization’s strategic priorities. Furthermore, the meeting explored ideas about the WDO Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF), and possibilities for funding opportunities within the proposed workstreams of the MPTF.
WDO, IOFS & CILSS
WDO worked on the file of food security and management of agricultural resources for women in the member states, through the activities of the training program held in the Republic of Niger to build the capacity of farmers on Water Management in Agriculture during the month of May 2022, through a tripartite partnership between WDO, the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and the Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS).
