Cairo, December 14th, 2023 – The Women Development Organization (WDO) held an innovative digital campaign in December to end to violence against women and girls.
The ‘Vow to End VAW’ campaign sought to raise awareness, drive engagement, and foster collective action to eradicate this pervasive issue. The campaign is a dedication to the women and girls of Palestine, who face one of the direst humanitarian crises in history amid the war on Gaza.
It is essential to highlight that ending violence against women is one of WDO’s thematic areas and part of its mandates.
Throughout the campaign, WDO posted on its social media platforms, to discuss and raise awareness on different forms of violence against women and girls, and ways to combat them.
Moreover, WDO conducted engaging webinars and online activities that aimed to enlighten the public about the root causes, consequences, and potential solutions for ending violence against women. The campaign included dedicating December’s episode of WDO’s monthly online series, The Talk, to tackle violence against women and girls.
WDO concluded the visionary campaign by creating a powerful alliance of leaders from OIC member states and international organizations to produce a video that sends a message to the world calling for an immediate end to all forms of violence against Palestinian women and girls.
The campaign comes during the global 16 days of activism campaign that aims to combat violence against women and girls.
